  11. <p>   Climate and clothing: Climate is mild and equable.
  12. Temperature varies between 16 C (61 F) and 34 C (93 F) with a
  13. mean temperature of 26 C (80 F). March is the hottest month,
  14. July and August the coolest, but humidity is high at all times.
  15. Tropical lightweight clothing is advisable all year. Informal
  16. dress may be worn on all occasions.
  17. </p>
  18. <p>   Entry requirements: No visa required for visits up to 30
  19. days; an onward ticket must be presented. For longer visits,
  20. application should be made for an entry permit at the nearest
  21. New Zealand or British Embassy. In urgent cases, a person may
  22. travel to Western Samoa without a visa and request an extended
  23. stay from the Chief Immigration Officer.

  25. <p>   Health: Western Samoa is free from malaria. Visitors should
  26. not drink tapwater. A national hospital is in Apia, and there
  27. are district hospitals around the islands of Upolu and Savai'i.
  28. Private medical practitioners are available in Apia.
  29. </p>
  30. <p>   Telecommunications: Domestic and international telephone,
  31. telex, and telegraph services are available. Western Samoa is
  32. seven standard time zones behind eastern standard time.
  33. </p>
  34. <p>   Transportation: Regular air service is available between
  35. Western Samoa and New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji and
  36. Vanuvatu. A weekly flight goes to Sydney, and there are several
  37. flights daily to Pago Pago, as well as ferry service. Within
  38. the country, daily air and ferry service is available between
  39. Apia, on the island of Upolo, and the larger island of Savai'i.
  40. Taxis, buses, and rental cars are also available. All tourist
  41. facilities can be reached by car or within walking distance of
  42. access roads.
